Looking at the idea of entity vs. incremental motivation I would say that it is important for instructors especially to look at motivation as being incremental. If you believe this then you are more likely to understand that the harder your students work and strive to accomplish a task they are more likely to be successful. I personally believe that there is no such thing as fixed or stable when it comes to intelligence. A person who is struggling with a task can attain some level of competency with enough work just as a person who originally finds it easy can lose the knowledge to complete the same task if they do not keep their skills fresh in that particular area.
