I thought the section about parent-child relations, specifically attachment was very interesting. I found this topic interesting because I am a nanny and therefore witness the way five kids ages ranging from eight years to ten months react when their parents leave them.
The strange situation was interesting to me because it helped me categorize the infant twins attachment quality to their parents, and have determined that they are securely attached, meaning that they "show distress when separated from their mothers but were readily calmed or soothed by the mother's return" (340).
The two year old and the four year old that I watch also seem to be securely attached. The engage in a lot of pretend and imaginative play, they show independence and self reliance, and show persistence when problem solving (341).
